I want to be free,
It's so cold down here.
Everybody's scared of me,
The have nothing to fear.

Those legends that are written,
Not a single word's true.
No person have I bitten,
I'll never harm you.

I'm lonely and frightened,
Controlled by the Dark Lord.
There's nothing to do here,
I'm terribly bored.

I do what he tells me
And I get nothing back.
Just stay coiled in these tunnels
Here it's dark and black.

People freeze when they see me,
I can't think why.
They turn to stone
When fixed by my eye.

The spiders run from me,
When all I want to say
Is "Don't leave me, I'm lonely,
Come back and play."

I'm in a chamber now
Being ordered about.
My eyes are punctured,
I wish I could shout!

The pain is unbearable
And still I'm forced on.
Inside I'm screaming.
I want the pain to be gone.

I lunge at a boy
Against my will,
He raises his sword
And it's time for the kill.

At last it's all over,
At last I'm free.
When you read this epitaph,
Please think kindly of me.
